Peggy Blevins

July 13, 1940 — January 19, 2022

Peggy Blevins, age 81, of Lauderdale, Mississippi, went to meet her Lord on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. While we mourn her passing, we know she has moved on to a much better place. She is no longer here with us physically, but her beautiful spirit, relentless and unconditional love will live on in all of us that she touched, and there are so many!
Peggy was born on July 13, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Odell Roberts and Mary Billetz. She attended Barkers Mill Church of Christ. Among her favorite pastimes were trips to the beach, Crimson Tide football, and fishing.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tim Blevins; daughter, Christy Yancy; granddaughter, Megan Yancy, grandson, Gary Spain, and sister, Gail Rogers.
Survivors include her children, Mark (Carol) Spain, Danny (Lynn) Spain, John (Traci) Spain, and Jeff (Sara) Nowell; grandchildren, Chrysa (Evan) Meyer, Dustin Spain, Bobby Spain, Jessica (Wilson) Nowell, Jeffrey Nowell, Stephen Nowell, and Katie Schneider; sisters, Deborah Etheridge and Marianne Bocklage; stepsisters, Alice Bryd and Johnnie Natale. Peggy also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren.
Peggy was always a giver. She would give all she had to her family, even if that meant her doing without some of life's amenities, she would have liked for herself. Her focus in life was not centered around personal needs, it was centered around her loved ones and doing what she could to always show love and bring happiness to them, because this is what brought her true joy. To some of us she was a big sister. To some of us she was mom. To others she was Grandma Peggy or Aunt Peggy. But to all she was a loving part of our lives that made us all better for her being in it! Her soul is that of a butterfly and it has now flown to heaven to be with her husband Tim and her daughter Christy, along with all of our other loved ones waiting for us there. This place will be a little darker without her but her light will continue to shine in all of us.
