Paul E. "Tootle" Moats, 69, Clarksville, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Alvin C. York VA Hospital, Murfreesboro.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2011 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Matthew Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Paul was born November 26, 1942 in Lenoir City, TN, son of the late Paul H. and Martha McDaniel Moats. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served two tours of duty. He later retired from APSU where he was the Custodian Supervisor. Paul was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Moats and sisters, Charlotte Haynes and Bobbie Branham.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Victoria Glinsman Moats of Clarksville, sons, Paul E. Moats, Jr. (Robin) of Wilson, NC, Alvah Moats (Johanna) of Mattlews, NC, and Gary Moats (Kelly Rayburn) of Clarksville, daughters, Susan Kleinert (Erskine) of NC, Dawn Cox (Timothy Neblett) of Clarksville, Krystal Rose (Billy) of El Paso, TX, brothers Billy Moats (Daisy) and Gary Moats (Mary), both of Lenoir City, sisters Kathy Moats and Janie Mills (Sandy), both of Lenoir City, brother-in-law, Jimmy Haynes of Lenoir City, thirteen grandsons, seven granddaughters, and two great granddaughters.
