Mrs. Para James, age 74, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who resided in Clarksville, TN went to be home with the Lord Monday, July 4, 2022, at Tristar Skyline Medical Center.

Para was born in South Bend, Indiana on October 6, 1947, to Ernest and Vernell (Douglas) Young.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Kevin Verdell James; two sons, Stanley and Torrey Plump both of South Bend, IN; two stepchildren, Odell James of South Bend, IN and Bonita (Maurice) Williams of Indianapolis, IN; twelve grandchildren, Caleb, Tierney, Torianna, Torrey, Jr., Dorion, Trovel, Justice, Honor, Shanelle (Casey) Greer, Ayanna, Saniya and Maurice Jr; great-grandchildren, Jaxton, Ja’Dora, Leona, and Amari; three sisters, Sharon (Synott) Hall, Annette (Jim) Burris, and Darlene Lewis, all of South Bend, Indiana and two brothers, Milton (Sharee) Lax of San Antonio, TX and Pastor Richard (Lona) Lax of Houston, TX. Along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Relatives who proceeded her in death are her parents, Ernest Young Vernell, and Milton Lax; sisters, Ernestine Cheeks, Rose James, Laurie Williams, Patricia Jacks and one brother, Robert Young.
Para graduated from Washington High School in 1965 South Bend, IN. She worked in childcare, Goodwill Industries and retail before retiring. Para was a woman of God, affectionately known as “Mother James” of Dominion Worship Center in Clarksville, TN. She enjoyed cooking, reading her bible, watching her crime shows, and collecting roosters. She will be greatly missed, yet we find comfort that she is with her creator, God.
