Pamela Gibson

Pamela Gibson, age 71, of Clarksville, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, Clarksville.

Pamela entered into this life on November 3, 1950 in Springville, New York, to her late parents Donald Wesley Gibson and Arveda Patricia Brant Gibson. In her early adult years, Pamela began a career with NBC News working as an Audio Engineer Broadcaster. She was the first woman to hold a technical position of this type in a nationally syndicated news outlet and pioneered the way for other women who aspired to enter the field. Because this position required world travel, Pamela stepped away from this position with the news she was expecting her child, Simon. She went on to own and operate a florist and eventually worked in Technology Sales, finishing her working career in 2005. Of all her accomplishments, Pamela's proudest and grandest moments were being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her son, Simon Swist and his wife Sarah of Cutchogue, New York; her two grandchildren, Pierson and Ronan; and her three siblings, Kathleen Hamburger of Boca Raton, Florida, Brant Gibson of Key West, Florida, and Allen Gibson of Mexico.
