Norbert Hock

Norbert Hock, 77, Clarksville. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sango Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. A Prayer Vigil will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.
He was born on May 28, 1931 in Wiesthal, Germany to the late Rudolph and Rosa Hock. He entered eternal life on July 25 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from complications due to cancer. He was preceded in death by his five brothers and four sisters all of whom lived in Germany. He immigrated to St. Louis, MO in March 1953 and was employed as a cabinet maker before entering the U.S. Army in July 1955, where he served 20 years of distinguished service as a First Seargent in the U.S. Army Combat Engineers. He served in Korea, twice in Vietnam, three times in Germany, and the United States before retiring July 31, 1975, after which he returned to his original trade. He served as president of the Clarksville Edelweiss Club for 2 terms and was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Colombus. Also, he served on various committees in the Catholic church throughout his life. He was also a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen, his daughters Karen (late Andrew) Stasiorowski of Clarksville, Susan (Anthony) Hightower of Guthrie, KY, Sheryl (R.J.) Sollohub of Fredericksburg, VA, grandchildren Matthew Hightower, Stephanie Hightower, Rosana Stasiorowski, and John Paul Sollohub.
Knights of Colombus will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Helping Hands Free Clinic, North Main St., Elkton, KY 42220.
