Nell Bell Cooper, 83, Clarksville, died Saturday, November 10, 2007, at her daughter's residence. The funeral will be held at 12 noon Tuesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Chaplain Sherry Major officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born August 20, 1924, in Thomasville, TN, daughter of Charlie W. and Aline Shearron Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Randall F. Cooper, and brother James William Bell. Nell and her husband were the former owners of Cooper's Big Star Supermarket in Clarksville. She was a member of the Madison Street United Methodist Church. Nell belonged to several bridge clubs, Duplicate Club, and Elegante Club. She is survived by sons Charley W. Cooper, Hendersonville, TN, and Dan E. Cooper, Franklin, TN; daughter Linda Cooper Hazlett, Clarksville; sister Evelyn Gresham of Chester, S.C.; grandchildren Dana Vernon, Charity Dempsey, Heath Cooper, Carly Cooper; and great-grandchildren Sydney and Cooper Dempsey. Pallbearers will be Jerry Hazlett, Heath Cooper, Marc Dempsey, Joe Arrington, Bobby Tidwell, John Gresham, Charles Gresham, Tom Gresham, and Walt Cunningham.
