Nathan James Varian, age 66, unexpectedly left this world bound for heaven on February 17, 2021.
Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at The Community Church.
Nathan was born in Clarksville, TN, on November 19, 1954. His parents were James and Dixie Varian. Later moving to Tylertown, Mississippi, he was a graduate of Walthall Academy in 1972. He then became an Emergency Medical Technician and continued in that field when he enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1983 in Florida as a Medical Specialist. He went on to serve his country in the National Guard Reserves, achieving the rank of Sergeant.
NFL football was a passion of Nathan’s—he loved collecting jerseys and cheering on the Titans. He respected the American flag and he respected others. If you knew Nathan, you appreciated his gentle, easy-going, and kind soul. He was either riding around with his good friends Mike Schrecker and Charlie Vaughn or he was walking the streets of Clarksville—usually down to Kelly’s Big Burger—with his sweet dog Shelby.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Dixie Varian. His remaining family includes sister Amanda Varian; niece and nephews Victoria, Cory, Kendall, and Jamie Sauer; daughter Hope Louge; step-children Laurie Rockenstyre, Robert Rush (Michelle), and Tammy Moore (Michael); step-grandchildren Cassandra Negron (Brian), Evan Powell (Molly), Coltan Powell, Ashten Rush (Audrey), Holli Moore, Reilee Martin (Andrew), and Willow Moore.
A Celebration of Life service will be at a later date at the Community Church in Clarksville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Montgomery Animal Care and Control Center. Nathan loved animals and was involved with this organization.
