Nathan Brissee Cain went to be with our Lord in heaven on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky where he was stationed in the United States Army.
Nathan was born June 8, 1984 in Plano, Texas to his parents Bryon and Alicia (Rackers). The family moved to Houston, Texas in 1989 and Nathan attended schools in the Alief, Texas graduating in 2002 from Hastings High School. After high school, he attended the University of Texas in Austin and later the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth in Boston and graduated from Cape Cod Community College in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He lived most of his adult life with his father, Byron, and step-mother Donna working as an innkeeper in Byron and Donna’s Inns on Cape Cod.
He enlisted in the US Army in January, 2016 completing basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC and was most recently stationed at Fort Campbell, KY from 2017 until his death. He was truly proud of his service in the Army and embraced Army life and the comradery of his brothers and sisters with whom he served.
He leaves behind his mother and step-father Eddie and Alicia Rackers, his father and step-mother Byron and Donna Cain; his brother Jim and his family and two sisters, April and Jennifer and their families, his two grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many brothers and sisters in service at Fort Campbell.
Nathan passed through and touched the lives of so many people in his short 33 years. We know even in our pain that our heavenly Father has gathered him in his loving arms and welcomed him in heaven to join his relatives and friends who have gone before: his three grandmothers and two grandfathers, uncles, aunts and several dear friends.
A military memorial will be held to remember Nathan at Ft. Campbell. The service will be held at Liberty Chapel at 10:00 am on March 27. In lieu of flowers, his family is requesting that donations be made in Nathan’s name to the 101st Airborne Association, Screaming Eagles: https://screamingeagle.org
