Natalie Rogers Carter passed away December 29, 2017, in Erin, TN. She was 87.
A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Spencer Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The Carter family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday afternoon.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ernest Carter. She is survived by her two children, Larry (Heidi) Carter of Nashville and Helen (Marty) Moore of Erin; a granddaughter, Ruth Page, and great-granddaughter, Katelynn Page of Arab, AL.
Natalie was born September 23, 1930, in Sampson County, NC to Ernest Preston Rogers and Bonnie Mae Ball Rogers. She grew up in New York City and Washington, DC, where she met her husband who was stationed at Norfolk, VA with the Navy. After Ernest’s retirement, the Carter’s spent 40 years in Grant, AL, before moving to Tennessee to be near their children.
Natalie was a talented artist, who enjoyed crocheting rugs and other items, making jewelry, oil painting, and writing books and poems. Her rugs won state competitions several times. She most enjoyed giving and making other people happy. She was an active member of the Erin church of Christ and the Old Reynoldsburgh Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.
