Nancy Scott Quick, 74, of Southside, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Alive Hospice, Nashville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Her son-in-law, the Rev. Willie Lyle will officiate. In addition, a Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Andrew Stowell officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Nancy was born October 1, 1937 in Spindale, NC, daughter of James Tilman Watkins and Nancy Carolyn Green Watkins. Nancy had an adventurous spirit, made evident by the 11 solo jumps she performed with the Parachute Club at Fort Campbell. She was a nurse and a member of Spring Hill Methodist Church.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Wayne Quick and her son, Capt. Farrill Quick.
Survivors include her loving family which includes her son, Martin Wayne Quick and his wife Patti of Sunrise, FL; her daughters, Suzette Lyle and her husband, the Rev. Willie Lyle of Cumberland City and Fonda Quick of Springfield; brother, Jim Watkins of Dearborn, NC; sisters, Susie Hadwin of Chapin, SC and Dee McPhaul of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Jonathan Quick, Joseph Quick, Christina Horney, Patrick (Kate) Horney, Rebekah Horney, Daniel Horney, Brad (Kayla) Lyle, Ashley (Alan) Denno, Alec (Samantha) Lyle, Nolan Lyle, Lacy Lyle, Levi Lyle, Abigail Lyle, and Beverly Lyle; and great grandchildren, Charlie and Billy Lyle, Payton Goins, and Tristan Denno.
