Myrtle Averitt - 1921 Myrtle Margaret Averitt, 89, Erin, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at Oak Brook Apartments. The funeral will be held at 2pm Thursday at Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in McIntosh Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30pm until 8pm Wednesday and from 8am until service Thursday at the funeral home. Nave Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born March 7, 1921 in Houston County, Tn., Daughter of the late Clifton Wright and Annie Bishop Wright. She is preceded in death by her husband J.V. Averitt and one son Kim Averitt. She was a member and Elder of Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a long time Sunday school teacher and had also taught in the Houston County School system. She was also a volunteer for many years in the Red Cross Blood Drive. Survivors include one son Phil (Becky) Averitt of Erin, Tn., two sisters Glenda Settle of Houston County, Tn., Ruth Humphrey of Edgewater, Fla., two grandchildren Leeza (Dwayne) Osborne, Brad J Averitt and one great-grandchild Brody Osborne. Pallbearers include Eddie Rye, Rudy Smith, Jerry Baggett, Monty Joe Allsbrooks, Cass Rye, Lynell Rye and Jerry Fussell In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Red Cross, Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church or Houston County Library.
