MSG (Ret) Peter Hamilton, 68 of Clarksville, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life with Full Military Honors rendered, will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Shawn Berry officiating. His final resting place will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West but at a late date. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
Peter was born on April 17, 1947 in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of the late James Hamilton and Jeanie Clelland Hamilton.
He was a member of Clan Hamilton who was a retired MSG from the U.S. Army and later retired from Civil Service. Peter, a Purple Heart recipient, served two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Desert Storm.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Handley Hamilton; children, Peter Jay Hamilton, Sonja (Michael) Patterson, Steven (Sunisa) Hamilton, and Stephanie (Sam) Patterson; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Jimmy (Mary) Hamilton, Burt (Pat) Hamilton, and Billy (Marie) Hamilton; daughter-in-law, April Hamilton and sister-in-law, Barbara Metz.
