Monroe Thomas Elliott, 75, Dover, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at Henry County Medical Center, Paris, TN. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Mike Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville with military honors. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 1, 1934 in Wild Cherry, AR, and was preceded in death by his parents, Lehman Austin and Edith Copeland Elliott. Mr. Elliott was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran, with the 11th Airborne, 82nd Airborne, 7th Army in Europe and 101st Airborne Division; a Licensed Land Surveyor and owner of Elliott Surveying-Cunningham, a retiree of Montgomery County Highway Department; a former member of the Board of Directors of Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of National Rifle Association. Survivors include his sons, Clint (Amy) Elliott, Nashville, Adam (Annette) Elliott, Clarksville; daughter, Susan Elliott, Anchorage, AK; sisters, Louise Clark, Summerville, SC, Marion Blough, Nashville, Dorothy Greenfield, Springfield, MO; half brother, Lehman Elliott, Jr.; grandchildren, Grant, Evan, Avery, Jeremy Elliott and Joy Scott; great-grandchildren, Antonio and Zackary Scott. Pallbearers will be Clint Elliott, Adam Elliott, Wes Mixon, Jerry Smith, Tommy McIntosh and David Foster.
