Minnie Lee Battles of Chapmansboro, TN entered into rest on Christmas Day at the age of 81. She was born on June 7, 1928 to Aaron and Gladys White. She was a long time resident of Vance, AL and Haughton, LA, just recently moving to a new home in Tennessee.
Minnie grew up in the West Blocton and Vance area. She worked for Parlow State Hospital for almost 25 years before retiring. After her retirement, she moved to Louisiana to be near family and after almost 15 years there moved with family to Tennessee.
Minnie is preceded in death by her father and mother and her older brother Fred. D. White. Left to cherish her memory is her only son Jack Battles and his wife Mary of Chapmansboro, TN., Brothers Dewey T. (Tom) White of Vance, Willie D. (Billy) White and his wife Lou Evelyn of Vance, and a sister Jessie Williams of Ashville, N.C. Further survived by a number of cousins, nieces and nephews and the countless friends she made on her journey thru life.
Visitation will be at Memory Chapel in Tuscaloosa on Tuesday evening December 29, 2009. Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Vance at 1 p.m.
Honorary Pallbearers are the past employees of Partlow State Hospital with whom whe worked, and the members of the Pleasant View Fire Department Rescue Squad. Arrangments are being conducted thru McReynolds-Nave & Larson of Clarksville, TN and Memory Chapel of Tuscaloosa.
