Mildred Haley Johnson

Clarksville

Mildred Haley Johnson, aged 94, of Clarksville, TN, passed away peacefully at her home on April 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, with Rev. Ben Falls officiating. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, a place she often visited for reflection and peace. Mildred was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church, where her kind and radiant spirit touched many lives.

The family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

Born on November 30, 1930, in Todd County, KY, to the late Richard T. Haley and Effie Newcomb Haley, Mildred lived a life dedicated to spreading love and joy. Her home was always a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and the chatter of children she lovingly cared for, including her grandkids, nieces, nephews, and the neighborhood kids. She embraced her roles as a devoted mother, grandmother (affectionately known as "Granny"), sister, and friend with unmatched kindness and selflessness.

Mildred spent much of her life as a stay-at-home mother and caregiver to many children. Later, she extended her gentle and compassionate heart to elderly patients, offering care in their homes and nursing facilities. Her strength, faith, and devotion to her family will forever be her enduring legacy.

She is joyfully reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Homer Johnson; her children, Thomas Johnson and Pamela Shrader; and her siblings, Joe Richard Haley, Dorothy Ann Chandler, Mary Elizabeth Seay, and Lillian Newcomb Cheatham.

Mildred's memory will be cherished by her children, Patsy Coppedge and Mary McDaniel, both of Clarksville, TN; Lenette Newsom (Terry) of Southside, TN; Donnie Johnson (Becky) and Ronnie Johnson (Linda), both of Clarksville, TN. She is also survived by her sisters, Cornelia Seay of Allensville, KY, and Ruth Turner of Clarksville, TN. Her legacy of love lives on through her 16 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers and honoring her memory will be her devoted grandsons: Ronnie Johnson Jr., Matthew Johnson, Donnie Johnson Jr., Nicholas Johnson, Eddie McDaniel Jr., Chris Johnson, and Joshua Newsom.

The Johnson family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Olivia, Lydia, Truffe, and Robin with Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care during Mildred's final days.

Services will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person. Arrangements are in the care of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, 1209 Madison St, Clarksville, TN. Online condolences may be shared at www.NaveFuneralHomes.com.
