Mildred Eloise Mayfield Christian, age 84, of Gallatin and formerly of Clarksville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 21, 2013.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will follow the service.
The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2012 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
Mildred entered this life on April 13, 1928 and was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph William and Susie May Burns Mayfield; husband, SFC Charles Walter Christian; grandson, SGT Charles Christian Martin; brother, Joseph Wallace Mayfield; and niece, Karen Mayfield Suter.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph Christian and wife Christy, Carolyn Christian Martin and husband Chester; brother, Larry Mayfield and wife Margery; grandson, Chester Martin III; granddaughters, Kathryn Jones and husband David, DeAnn Killion and husband Thomas; great-granddaughters, Eva Cline, Christy Martin, PFC Elli Cline, Melanie Jones; and great-grandson, Nicholas Martin; nieces, Laray Mayfield, Sue Harris and husband Cecil, Martha Christian and husband Fred, Donia Tabor-Hanson and husband Robert, Angelina Anderson, Ellen Montgomery, Elaine Rose, Margaret Kinder, Tammy Dover, Patricia Eaves Cain and husband Kenny, Pamela Eaves Hixson and husband Tracy; nephews, Larry Mayfield JR., John Mayfield and wife Misty, Charles Moreland and wife Samantha, Thomas Moreland and wife Connie, Dillard Dover, Larry Dover and wife Jennifer, James Thomas Kinder, Ed Eaves, David Eaves and his wife Kathy; nephew-in-law, Richard Suter.
Mrs. Christian retired from Bell South and was a life time member of the Pioneers. She attended First Baptist Church in Clarksville before moving to Gallatin.
