Mildred Claytie Brawley, 89, Clarksville, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Montgomery Care and Rehabilitation Center. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Thomas Dowdy and Rev. Paul Tramel officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 12 noon until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born July 10, 1918 in Montgomery County, daughter of Ottie L. Peacher and Goldie Bowers Peacher. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Walter Brawley. Mrs. Brawley was a homemaker and a member of Forest Street United Methodist Church and volunteered for American Red Cross Blood Mobile for over 25 years. Survivors include a son, Barry (Gina) Brawley, Nashville; daughters, Eva (Allan) Thomas, Elizabeth Davis and Josephine (Earl) McElfresh, all of Clarksville; sister, Lois Suiter, Clarksville; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
