Mildred Hodges Bass, 88, of Cunningham, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Gateway Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Bear officiating. Burial will follow in Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the hour of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bass was born June 9, 1929 in Montgomery County, and was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Era Hollis Hodges; husband, WC "Bootsie" Bass; and her sons, Watson Bass and Bill Bass; brothers, Clifton Hodges, Jack Hodges, and Bobby “Robert” Hodges; sisters, Myrtle Slayton and Rushia Hodges Hayes. She was retired from Acme Boot and a member of Baggett’s Chapel Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include her sister, Ruby Hembree; grandchildren, Joel (Melanie) Bass, Crystal Bass (Bryan) Waller, Lorrie Bass (Shane) Waller, and Jason Bass; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Hembree, Chris Hembree, Billy Hodges, Jason Bass, Levi Hembree, and Danny Hembree.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in the care of Gary Black at 1345 Highway 13, Cunningham, TN 37052.
