Mikylo Nevon Parker

November 5, 2001 – October 14, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mikylo Nevon Parker, lovingly known as "Mik" to his family and "Parker" to his friends. Mikylo, age 22, of Fort Campbell, KY, departed from this world far too soon on Monday, October 14, 2024.

Mikylo was born naturally at home in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, on a crisp autumn day, November 5, 2001, and raised in Chester, Virginia. From the very beginning, his life was filled with adventure and a sense of purpose. His early years were shaped by the love and guidance of his parents, Cecilia Dougherty and Kristan Parker, as well as his grandparents, Kelly and Marilyn Duncan, and stepmother Tara Parker.

Following in the footsteps of his beloved grandfather, CWIII (Ret.) Kelly Duncan, Mikylo proudly joined the United States Army, where he served with honor and commitment. Stationed at Fort Campbell, Mik embodied the values of courage, loyalty, and service, always striving to make a meaningful difference. His passion for helping others extended beyond his military service; he dreamed of becoming an EMT, joining the fire academy, and ultimately serving in search and rescue. His heart was always drawn to those in need, and his dreams reflected a life built on compassion and dedication.

Mikylo’s adventurous spirit found expression in his love for motorcycles, rock climbing, and exploring the great outdoors. He had a way of embracing life fully, whether in moments of joy with his family or in the quiet thrill of conquering a new challenge.

Mikylo’s legacy lives on through those who love him. He is survived by his wife, Katie Parker; his mother, Cecilia Dougherty; father, Kristan Parker; stepmother, Tara Parker; siblings, Hailey Parker and Budrho Byrnes; step-siblings, Jenna Hayes, Paige Neely, and Wren Neely; and grandparents, Kelly and Marilyn Duncan and grandmother Theresa Roy. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Aileen and John Thwaites, as well as his sister-in-law, Lorna Verlander.

A service to honor Mikylo’s life will be held at a later date at Winfree Church in Midlothian, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who knew Mikylo to honor his memory by embracing life’s adventures, helping those in need, and cherishing time with loved ones.

Though his time with us was far too brief, Mikylo's courage, kindness, and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
