Mickey Adkins

Calvin Russell Adkins, Jr. lovingly known as Mickey,  age 91, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024, at Tennessee State Veterans Home.

A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. David Mackens officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Mickey entered this life on January 2, 1932, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Calvin Russell Adkins, Sr. and Fannie Love Hodges Adkins. He was a graduate of Clarksville High school, and spent many years as a public servant, working as a Daytona Beach Lifeguard. Mickey eventually made his talent of art his full-time career. He was a very skilled and accomplished painter. Mickey was also a Veteran of The United States Army, having served in the Korean War. As a result of his great sacrifice to his country he was presented with The Purple Heart medal.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his longtime companion of 36 years, Kari Darnell, and siblings, Ben Adkins, and Jenny Pearson.

Survivors include his children, Michael Adkins, Sherri McCormick, Mindy Adkins,  Jill Petry; daughters in love,  Anne- Karin Darnell, and Laila Darnell Phillips, brothers, Mike Adkins and Don Adkins, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
