Mervin "Merv" Hargis

Mervin (Merv) Owen Hargis age 73 of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday November 15, 2011 at Gateway Medical Center.
A Celebration of life service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday November 19, 2011 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robin Courtney officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Merv was born in Stewart County, TN, August 10, 1938 son of the late William Graham and Ann Eloise Norden Hargis. He was a retired Insurance Agent with American General Life Insurance Company, and a Baptist. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and Camping. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Randell Hargis and brother, Dean Hargis.
Mr. Hargis is survived by his wife, Lois Choate Hargis; sons, Kevin (Collen) Hargis, Mike (Stephanie) Choate, Timothy (Lisa) Hughett; daughters, Tresa (Kevin) McCreery, Derenda Warner and Debra Younce; brother, C.R. (Debbie) Hargis; sisters, Nelda Steeley and Joyce Neblett; sister-in-law, Winnie Hargis; mother-in-law, Mary Choate Burkett; 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchilden and 2 great-great grandchildren.
