Merle Atkins

Merle Sleigh Atkins, age 91, of Woodlawn, went to be with Jesus on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Dogwood Bend.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2020 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Rocky Sickel and Rev. Cal Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church of Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday from 12 noon until the hour of service.

Merle was born in Montgomery County on October 10, 1928 to the late Charlie and Maggie Stanfill Sleigh. She was a founding member of the First Baptist Church of Woodlawn. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kelly Atkins.

Those left to cherish her memory, sons, Mike (Sue) Atkins and Don (Beverly) Atkins; grandchildren, Brian (Lori) Atkins, Lacey (Justin) Deardorff, Dan (Jasmine) Atkins, and Casey (Kyle) Murphy; great-grandchildren, Wiley Atkins, Ellie Atkins, Silas Atkins, Lottie Sue Murphy, Homer Murphy, Hayden Atkins, Addison Deardorff, Bryson Deardorff, Elizabeth Deardorff, and Brayden Deardorff.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
