Melvin Dale Welker, 55, Clarksville, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Paul Tramel officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Stewart County. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, 4-8 p.m. Sunday, and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 28, 1952 in Montgomery County, son of Joseph Bryant Welker and Betty Lorene Grizzard Welker. Mr. Welker was a heavy equipment operator for Powers Construction Company and a Methodist. Other than his father of Clarksville, survivors include his daughters, Mandy (Terry) LaFary, Clarksville, Jennifer (Jeremy) Hatfield, Nashville, Melody Welker, Clarksville; brother, Bryant (Charlotte) Welker Jr., Clarksville; sisters, Joan (John) Magoto, Versailles, OH, Judy (Dean) Devers, Clarksville, Sandra (Wayne) Gulledge, Clarksville, Cathy (Albert) Acuna, Clarksville; and nine grand-children. Pallbearers will be Deno Devers, Brian Gulledge, Jeremy Rye, Eric Welker, George Jones and Richard Nuckolls.
