Melvin Miller

Melvin Russell Miller, 52, Southside, died Sunday, August 2, 2009, at Northcrest Medical Center, Springfield. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home. The remains are to be cremated. He was born September 27, 1956 in Rockford, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald R. Miller. Mr. Miller was former founder of Melvin Miller Masonry and a member of Christ Fellowship Church. Survivors include his mother, Mary France Blackwell Miller, wife, Connie Sue Black Miller, children, Dudley (Debbie) Thomas, Dana Thomas, Rhonda (Scott) Potter of Southside; seven grandchildren; brothers, Donnie Miller, Charles "Chuck" Miller, Thomas Miller, Chris Miller; sisters, Phyllis Whitehead and Marylin Austin.
