Mellow "Junior" Porter

Mellow Porter, Jr., 83, Cumberland Furnace, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center.
A brief memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Niles officiating. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Junior was born June 20, 1929 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, son of Mellow Joseph Porter, Sr. and Myrtle Davis Porter. Junior was retired from Civil Service at Fort Campbell. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and the McAlister Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, June McClain Porter of Cumberland Furnace; his son, Billy Joe Porter and his wife Susan of Cumberland Furnace; grandson, Todd Porter of Clarksville; sister, Joann Rives and her husband Alfred of Cunningham; and brother, Edward Porter and his wife Ann of Clarksville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Lofton.
