Melba Joanne Carney, 73, Clarksville, died Saturday, October 27, 2007, at Gateway Medical Center.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with the Revs. Larry Robertson and Paul Scott officiating.
Burial will be in Nanney-Hollis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born August 13, 1934 in Montgomery County, Tenn., daughter of W.J. Nicholson and Ethel Nanney Nicholson.
Mrs. Carney was a customer service representative and a Baptist. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Linkous. She is survived by sons Jerry (Linda) Holmes, Michael Allen Holmes, and Christopher Scott Holmes all of Clarksville; daughters Barbara (Phillip) Cravath, Donna Churrarin, Debbie McCarver, Cindy Holmes, all of Clarksville, and Lisa (Charles) Knight of Wheatcroft, Ky.; brothers Murray Nicholson and David Nicholson both of Clarksville; sister Judy Prentice of Clarksville; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Cravath, Dwayne "Cricket" Rogers, Roy Smith, Jr., Charles Knight, Brian Prentice, and Roger Alff.
