Maxwell Clifford Jones, Jr. “Max”, age 76 of Clarksville, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Skyline Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Blooming Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Revs. Paul and Myrna Moore officiating.
Max was born on March 28, 1940 in Longview, WA the son of the late Maxwell Clifford Jones, Sr. and Mary Isabelle Tickner Jones. Max went to school in Rainer and Umatilla, OR and graduated from Eastern Oregon University in La Grande. He worked as a high school math and science teacher in Eastern Oregon and later worked as an educator for Hanford Nuclear Plant, WA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, reading, and gardening. He was involved in His Church, Clarksville, TN and also the Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annie Jenice (Oatman) Jones; son, Maxwell Clifford Jones, III and wife Paula; granddaughters, Victoria Rose (Jones) Raxter, Danielle Nicole Jones; and Caitlin Elise (Jones) Greathouse; 2 step grandchildren, Josh Medlin and Prestean Medlin; brother, Bruce V. Jones; sister, Penny (Jones) Sealy; 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideon Memorial Bible Plan at The Gideons International Clarksville South Camp, P.O. Box 45, Clarksville, TN 37041.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
