Maxine Tompkins

Maxine Elizabeth Tompkins, 88, Clarksville, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Bolivar, TN. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home. She was born September 13, 1920 in Bolivar, TN and was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Aubry and Linnette Lightfoot Fleet; sister, Evelyn Mitchell; and her brother, Samuel Aubry Fleet II. Mrs. Tompkins retired as the bookkeeper of U.T. Memphis Medical College and was a methodist. She is survived by her son, Cecil Raymond (Nancy) Tompkins Jr., Lakeland, TN; daughter, Sandra (Bud) Jenkins, Clarksville; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
