Maurice Johnson Jarman, age 78, of Clarksville, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 22, 2013 at St. Thomas Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Fambrough officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The Jarman family will receive friends from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Additionally, a masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and all friends and family are encouraged to be present for this special masonic tribute to Maurice.
Maurice entered into this life on April 29, 1935 in Montgomery County, son to the late Herman W. and Etha Lyle Jarman. He was also preceded in death by seven brothers, five sisters, and grandson Chad W. Rey, Montana.
He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian. Additionally, he belonged to the Queen City Masonic Lodge #761 and was a Free and Accepted Mason since 1957. Mr. Jarman worked as a butcher for over 50 years.
He was a devoted husband and loving father and affectionately known as "Big Daddy" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley Morrow Jarman, daughters, Deborah Wilson, Pamela (Tim) Minnear, Lisa (Chadd) Morrison, all of Clarksville, and Jayne (Mike) Rey of Bozeman, MT, eight grandsons, and fourteen great grandchildren, and brothers, Larry Jarman of Texas and Dick Jarman of Clarksville. He is also survived by a host of other family and friends.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
