Matthew Harbinson

1SG(R) Matthew James Harbinson, age 87 of Clarksville, passed away July 22, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation will be at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday with a Rosary at 7 p.m. and Tuesday 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the Church. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Matthew was born January 21, 1930 to the late Matthew James and Mary Sheridan Harbinson in Minnesota. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a 25 year veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in Korea and two tours in Vietnam, a Master Parachutist and was awarded two Bronze stars. After serving his country, Matthew retired from Memorial Hospital as a Security Guard, was a cattle farmer, residential property investor and an avid Bowler. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Betty Habinson; son, Michael Shane Harbinson and daughter, Rebecca Chester.
Matthew is survived by his son, James Harbinson; granddaughter, Kristen (Ryan) Sandmire; great-granddaughter, Laney; brothers, John, Jerry, Tom, Harold, and Joe Harbinson; sister, Shelia Palowitz. Condolences may be made on-line at NaveFuneralHome.com
