Marye Fort Gardner Fletcher, age 96, of Clarksville, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Red River Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will be receiving friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fletcher entered into this life on December 1, 1917 in Martin, Tennessee, daughter to Comar and Winnie Fort Gardner. Along with formerly being a telephone operator for the Springfield Hospital, Marye was a loving and attentive homemaker to her family. She was a fan of New York Yankees baseball and Tennessee Titans football and belonged to the Adams United Methodist Church.
She has gone to be reunited with her first husband and father of her her daughter, Nathan Cope and second husband, Clarence Fletcher, her parents, and her late sisters, Mildred Wright and Marjorie Harrison.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Walker of Clarksville; grandsons, Bruce Walker and Johnny Walker and wife Shirlaine, of Clarksville; great granddaughters, Jessica Boehm and husband Christopher, Jessica Ledbetter, and Morgan Gainous and husband Kyle.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Walker, Bruce Walker, Kyle Gainous, Chris Boehm, Tommy Herndon, and Jamie Herndon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksville Humane Society.
