Mary Francis "Penny"Vaughn, 76, Clarksville, passed away peacefully,Sunday, November 7, 2010, at at her home in Orlando Florida,. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Reverend James Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Penny was born August 22, 1934 in Franklin, KY and was the daughter of the late Eunice Beatrice and Walter Brown. Penny married Marion Ray Vaughn 55 years ago in Clarksville, and was widowed August 24th, 2005. Penny operated a hair salon in Clarksville for a number of years and was a homemaker. Survivors include her sons, Vince Vaughn, Fayetteville, PA, David Vaughn, Chattanooga, TN, and Brady Vaughn, Orland FL; grandchildren; Melissa, Kelsey, David Ray, Brent, Miles, Matt, Meghan, Madison, and Dawson; great-grandchildren; Taylor, Silas, Kamoryn; sisters, Charlotte Kelley, Darlene Fournier, Sunshine West, Tina Brown; brother, Billy Carter; and her most trusted companion, Caruso, her dog. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tom Vaughn, Ted Johnson, Arthur Carter, Jimmy Laumb, and Eddie Vaughn (currently serving in Afghanistan). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
