Mary Frances Cayce Stapp Stokes, 90, Clarksville, started her eternal life on Jan. 22, 2009. A celebration of her life will be held during a graveside ceremony at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, January 24 from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. She was born October 10, 1918, and was the daughter of the late Calvin and Bessie Lloyd Cayce. Mrs. Stokes was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She retired from Sears and then continued to work with the Mature Worker Program until her early eighties. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were a source of great joy to her. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Calvin Stapp; her brother, Lucian Cayce; and her granddaughter, Deborah Johnson Karrigan. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Stapp Johnson of Nashville, and one sister, Cecile Carter Elder of Guthrie, Ky.; grandchildren, Joann Johnson Phelps, Anthony Slayton Johnson, Mary Margaret Stapp Davis, Shellie Stapp Parchman, and Thomas Cayce Stapp; and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Anthony Slayton Johnson, Slayton Johnson, Cayce Stapp, Brian Davis, Jeff Parchman, Bond W. Welch and Bobby Seay.
