Mary Lee Sowell, 84, Clarksville, died Saturday, January 2, 2010, at Baptist Hospital, Nashville. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. She was born February 3, 1925 in Montgomery County, daughter of Arthur Smith and Dora Toler Smith. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sons Robert M. Sowell, Roy Sowell, and Billy Sowell; brothers Buck Smith and James Smith; and sisters Annie Mae Clinard, Anna Riggins, Ermi Phillips, Elizabeth Riggins and Virgie Smith. Mrs. Sowell formerly attended Dotsonville Baptist Church and was retired from Booster. Survivors include her children Wilton Sowell, Jesse Wade Sowell, and Judy Ann Clark, all of Clarksville; brother Frank Smith of Palmyra; sisters Bobbie Jean Riggins of Clarksville, Dora Tottsi Teague and Linda Schwartz of MI; several grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Wilton Sowell, Bubba Nicholson, Dukey Nicholson, David Smith, Adam Smith and Kenny Canty. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Clark, Billy Roy Sowell, Kenny Jones and Donnie Nicholson.
