Mary Smith Rice

Mary Smith Rice, 95, of Cumberland Furnace, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Sterling House of Clarksville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gregory Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Sykes Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service Saturday at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mary was born July 5, 1917 in Montgomery Co., TN daughter of Irving C. and Lenora Sykes Smith. She was a homemaker. Mary held memberships with the Palmyra Friendship Club and Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling "Sub" Rice, and siblings, C.B. Smith, Boyd Smith, Leslie "Cush" Smith, Carney Smith, Bun Smith, Lillian Harris, Nellie Harris, Louise Boyer, and Pauline Shannon.
Mary is survived by her sister, Bobbie Jane Dawson of Cumberland Furnace, and several nieces and nephews.
Contributions may be made to the memorial fund at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 4812 Shiloh-Canaan Rd., Palmyra, TN 37142.
