Mary Ann Smithson Jones, 82 of Cumberland City, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the home of her niece.
A celebration of life service will be held 12 noon on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Bro. Joel Nulty officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 Friday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mary Ann was born April 9, 1932 in Bennistown, KY daughter of the late, Oma Jennings and Maggie Olivia High Smithson. She was a bookkeeper, a substitute teacher, served for years in the Rainbow Girls Association, and a lifelong farmer. She belonged to the General Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star Royal Chapter #213 and a member of the Cumberland City United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blendon Oleer Jones and her siblings, Charles Winston Smithson, John Myers Smithson, William Luther Smithson, and Oma Jennings (Jack) Smithson Jr.
Left to cherish her memory is 17 nieces and nephews and their families.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
