Mary Florence Akin

Mary Florence Akin, age 82, of Cumberland Furnace, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023.

Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2023 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. David Mackens and Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow at McWhorter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and again on Monday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Mary Florence entered this life on April 20, 1941 in Montgomery County, TN to the late Arthur and Stella Underwood Hodges. She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Brenda Britt and Nellie Potts.

Survivors include her loving husband, Norman Akin; children, Paul E. Akin, Sally Lawrence, Donald R. Akin (Sissy), and Douglas A. Akin; grandchildren, Danieal Akin, Dennis (Rachael) Lawrence, Jennifer (Matt) Matuszak, Bridgette (Kerry) Richardson, Bodie Akin, Caleb Akin, Angela (Jonathan) Mohon; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Aiden, Maddox, Ryker, Henry, Clara, Taryan, Macy, Rayna, Cale, Chloe, Paisley, and Brittany; great-great-grandchildren, Stella and Kamdyn; brothers, Donald (Peggy) Hodges, and Eddie (Frances) Hodges.

Pallbearers will be Matt Matuszak, Kerry Richardson, Danieal Akin, Bodie Akin, Dennis Lawrence, and Terry Akin.
