Mary Ball

Mary Jo Ball, 85, Clarksville, died Thursday, December 17, 2009, at her residence. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Harriett Bryan-Harris officiating. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the church. She was born November 8, 1924 in Montgomery County and was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Edward and Lillian Rogers Morrison and her sister, Rebecca Morrison. Mrs. Ball was a graduate of George Peabody College for teacher; retired Montgomery Central High School Teacher and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, R.V. Ball, Clarksville; sister, Ruth Coleman, Clarksville; Nieces, Linda (Rick) Smock, Lillian (Jody) Koopsma, Kathy Guthrie; and nephew, J.W. Guthrie. Pallbearers will be Daniel Watson, Jason Smith, Rick Smock, Freddie Abernathy, David Morgan, Phillip Morris and Brad Morris. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 2269 Seven Mile Ferry Road, Clarksville, TN 37040.
