James Marvin Crawford, age 86, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2018 at Lone Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. David Mackens and Bro. Gus Crockett officiating. Burial will follow at Baggett's Chapel Cemetery.
Marvin's family will receive friends from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Lone Oak Baptist Church.
Marvin was born on March 14, 1932 to the late Solomon Knox Crawford and Annie Nash Crawford, one of eighteen siblings growing up in Montgomery County. In his youth, Marvin enlisted in the US Army and served as a Sergeant before his honorable discharge. He went on to work for and eventually retire from the Trane Company. He enjoyed attending worship at Lone Oak Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Bonita Baggett Crawford, several brothers and sisters, and one grandchild. Survivors include his children, Michael Crawford (Patsy), Donald Crawford (Lisa), Dorothy Eads (Kenny), Carolyn Crawford, and Amy Crawford; and his siblings, Kenneth Crawford, Edna McWhorter, and Martha Johnson. Marvin was the grandfather to five grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
