Martha "Mop" Morrison Hughes, 79 of Clarksville, passed away Monday, February 2, 2014 at her residence.
A celebration of her life will be held 4 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Brian Marcoulier and Mark Wojnarek officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born March 6, 1935 in Clarksville, TN and was preceded in death by her parents, Finis Y. and Jessie Frances Holt Morrison; husband, Richard "Big Daddy" Hughes; and her brothers Roy and Howell Morrison.
Martha had worked at Acme Boot and the later at Madison Street United Methodist Church for 20 years as a nursery school teacher in the one year old class. She loved cooking prize winning angel food cakes.
She is survived by four sisters, Mary Jean Whisenant, June M. Bryant, Faye M. Mathews and Sheron M. York; several nieces and nephews.
