Marquez James Lamont Rolinger, age 20 of Ft. Campbell, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016 at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Memorial Chapel, Ft. Campbell with Chaplain Jay Outen officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at Memorial Chapel.
Marquez entered into this life July 14, 1996 in Valdosta, Georgia. Marquez attended First Baptist Church of Oak Grove and was a 2014 graduate of Ft. Campbell High School. He was a part of the track team his Junior and Senior years and excelled at the 400 meter, 4x4, and High Jump and ultimately was a part of the 2013 State Championship Track Team. However, football was Marquez’s life passion and proved himself to be an accomplished and integral part of the Falcons athletic program. Marquez made that evident while on the field. Donning the number 8 jersey, Marquez garnered the nickname “Ocho” and lettered all 4 years while playing both Wide Receiver and Cornerback. He led the Falcons Football team as Team Captain both his Junior and Senior years, and climaxing in an amazing season during his Senior year, Marquez was a member of the 2014 Kentucky All-State team, was elected Offensive Player of the Year, and accepted a scholarship to Kentucky Weslyan College. His family will also remember his love for peanut butter.
He is survived by parents, SFC Joshua Elton Ricketts and Tammy Rolinger Ricketts; maternal grandparents, Steven Rolinger, JoAnn Ferguson and Jeff Ferguson; paternal grandparents, Veda Ricketts and Elton Street; great grandparents, Pat and James Rolinger; brothers, Joshuah Ricketts, Isaiah Ricketts, and Marcus Sanders; sister, Megan Sanders; aunts, Ashlee Rolinger and Briann Pitts.
Pallbearers will be Javante Taylor, Nygell Bradley, Aaron Otto, Michael "Spanky" Sawyer, Gyasi Alexander, Isaiah Washington, Christian "pele" Smith, Zachary Lee, and Christian Noble
