Mr. Marlin Stavely, age 84 of Erin, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at his residence.
A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Scotts Chapel Cemetery with full military honors.
The Stavely family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Sunday afternoon.
Marlin entered this life on July 2, 1932 in Stewart County, TN, son to the late Thomas and Opal Cole Stavely. Upon school years, Marlin proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and later worked for General Motors.
In addition to his parents, Marlin was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Smith, and brothers, Marvin and Larry Stavely.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sarah Ballard Stavely; daughter, Norma Cost; sons, Chip Spicer, Roger Spicer; brothers, Norman Stavely, Dennis Stavely; sister, Betty Walls; four grandchildren, and one great –grandchild.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
