Marion Moore

Marion `Doc` Robertson Moore, 85, Clarksville, died Sunday, September 27, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Monday with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel. He was born December 24, 1923 in Shelby County and was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Virginia Ruth Simmons Moore, five brothers and two sisters. After serving the U.S. Air Force between 1942 - 1945 "Doc" graduated from Memphis State and U.T. Medical School. He practiced family medicine for 39 years in the Memphis in which during he served as Chief of Staff for both Family and Psychiatric Departments at Galior and Baptist Memorial Hospitals. He belonged to the American Legion, AMA, Society of Medical Hyprosis. He was a Presbyterian. Survivors in include his wife, Winifred Saunders Moore, Clarksville; son, William Robertson Moore M.D., Clarksville; daughters, Charlene M. Kincaid, FL, Jane M. Crawford, TN, Becky S. Moore DMD, UT; sister, Virginia Ruth Hardiman, GA; and five grandchildren.
