Marie Brake

Marie Rose Marcotte Brake, 91, Clarksville, formerly of Collinsville, IL died Monday, August 22, 2011. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2011 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, IL. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Marie was born November 1, 1919 in Aurora, KS and was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene John and Exzelea Lambert Marcotte; husband, David Otho Brake; daughter, Carol Ann Waggnor; grandson, Matthew Brake; great-granddaughter, Brooke Hawes. She was a retired cook for Sunset Nursing Home in Concora, KS and Parkvilla in Clyde, KS. Mrs. Brake was a member of Aurora Catholic Church, Aurora, KS; SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, IL. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, and was a Blanketeer for Project Linus. Survivors include her children, David Alvin (Emma Lee) Brake, Clarksville, Elaine Whiley, Winnsboro, LA, Joyce (Fred) Biery, Austwell, TX, Danny (Ginny) Brake, Lake Elsinore, CA, Eugene Brake, Witchita, KS; sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
