Margaret Wilson VanKooijk, age 86, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2014 at Spring Meadows Health Care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. John David Laida officiating. Her family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Margaret entered into this life on May 25, 1927 in Russellville, Kentucky, daughter to Bert and Cassie Bagby Murphy. She was the retired owner of Baskin Robbins Ice Cream in Clarksville. Also, Margaret volunteered for the Clarksville-Montgomery Co. Tourist Center, was active with the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the church family at First Baptist Church, Clarksville.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband and father of her children, Carl Wilson, husband, John VanKoijk. and grandson, Thomas Lott.
Survivors include her children, Carl Wilson (Rita), Louis Wilson (Sheila), and Judy Wheeler; and grandsons, John W. Wilson, Robert Wheeler (Beth), Amanda Salmon (Allen), Ben Wheeler (Cali), Rachel McClanahan (Jonathan), Chad Seay (Nicky), and Francis Lott (Nicole); and seven great grandchildren.
Her family would also like to extend their sincerest gratitude for the excellent care provided by the staffs of both Spring Meadows Health Care and AseraCare Hospice. In lieu of flowers they would prefer memorial contributions be made to AseraCare Hospice.
