Margaret Simpson

Ms. Margaret Mitchum Simpson, age 90 of Erin, TN, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 07, 2017 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
A celebration of her life will be held 11:00am Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Erin Baptist Church with Bro. Jason Pounds and Bro. Paul Moody officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 4pm until 8pm at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home and Saturday from 9:30 am until the start of service at the church.
Ms. Simpson was born on July 19, 1927 daughter to the late Mr. Carlisle and Mrs. Ruth Mitchum. She lived most of her life in Houston County. She was a graduate of Houston County High School (1945) and the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy (1950) as one of Tennessee’s early female pharmacists. She served her community as pharmacist and co-owner of Mitchum Drug Store and pioneered a pharmacy to support Erin’s first hospital. Ms. Simpson was an active member of Erin Baptist Church, faithful in many teaching and mission ministry responsibilities. She was a loving neighbor, compassionate community advocate, and faithful Bible teacher. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her brother Webb Mitchum; daughter, Ann Simpson Presley, and son, Bob Simpson; daughter-in-law Sherry Simpson; six grandchildren, Beth Presley Paul, Kathy Presley Curtis, Rebecca Presley Pekar, Scott Simpson, Tiffany Simpson Brown, Emily Simpson; and eight great grandchildren, Nate Paul, Zach Paul, Margaret Curtis, Madeline Curtis, Paige Pekar, Avery Pekar, Austin Brown, Caden Brown.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bret Alsobrooks, Dan Alsobrooks, Albert Mitchum, Carl Mitchum, Mitch Mitchum, Nate Paul, Zach Paul and Scott Simpson.
