Margaret Settlers

Margaret Holloran Settlers, 69, Clarksville, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Patricks Catholic Church, McEwen, TN with Father Ed Steiner officiating. Burial will be in St. Patricks Cemetery, McEwen, TN. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel, Clarksville and from 12 noon until the hour of service Thursday at St. Patricks Catholic Church, McEwen, TN. She was born October 24, 1939 in McEwen, TN and was preceded in death by her parents, James Patrick and Mayme Lagan Holloran; brothers, Jim Holloran, Tommy Holloran; sisters, Loraine Thompson, Ann Ridings Hooper. Mrs. Settlers was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, retired from Sears/Robock after 30 years, graduated from McEwen High School and was All State Basketball, was a member of Womens College Basketball All American Team in 1959, graduated from Nashville Business College and was a U.S.A. Representative for Goodwill Games in 1959 in Russia. Survivors include her husband, Edgar Settlers, Clarksville; sons, Steven Settlers, Clarksville, David (Darleen) Settlers, Taylor Mill, KY; brother, Joe (Mary Lee) Holleran, Nashville; grandson, Joseph P. Soard. Pallbearers will be Bill Hadley, Michael Baggett, Billy Brown, John Brennan, Tim Holloran, Ken Avery and Terry Coleman. Honorary pallbearers will be surviving relatives and all former teammates. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 709 Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.
