Margaret “Peg” Olson, age 80 of Clarksville, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Robert Lueck officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at the church.
Peg was born on July 19, 1936 in Spring Valley, WI to the late Arnold Madson and Flossie Bauer Madson. In addition to her parents, Peg is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Olson; son, John Olson; brother, William “Billy” Madson.
Peg, a retired teacher from Clarksville Montgomery County School System and Austin Peay State University, was a member of Montgomery County School System TEA, several Bridge Clubs, and was also a member of First Presbyterian Church. She lived in Channing Place and was very involved in her community. Peg had a love for cooking and had a gift of hospitality. She had a love for people which lead her to maintain lifelong friends, including several lifelong friends from Spring Valley, WI.
Survivors include her sons, Mark (Jane) Olson and Pete Olson; brother, Charles Madson; grandchildren, Robert Olson, Elizabeth Olson, Michael Olson, and Maggie Olson.
Pallbearers will be Robert Olson, Michael Olson, Greg Patton, Marv Beals, Jeff Robinson, Craig O’Shoney, Shannon Hogan, Todd Averitt, and Greg Guinn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the F.U.E.L. Program.
