Margaret Brandon Shelton

Margaret Elizabeth Brandon Shelton, 94, passed away July 30, 2012 in Birmingham, Alabama.
She was born November 29, 1917 in the Lineport Community in Stewart County, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Beulah Roberts Brandon; her husband, B. W. “Woody” Shelton and brothers, Gilbert, Finis, Robert and Harold Brandon. She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Shelton Ruff and one grandson, Michael Brandon Corvin and his wife Judy Martin Corvin of Birmingham, Alabama. She and her husband operated Woody’s Shell Service on East College Street in Clarksville, Tennessee for many years before retiring to her family home in the Tobaccoport Community in Stewart County. She was a lifelong member of the Tobaccoport United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, 984 Greenwood Avenue, Clarksville, Tennessee at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 3, with Rodney Cheatham officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, 1209 Madison Street, Clarksville, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be family members.
Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, or to Children’s Hospital of Alabama, P.O. Box 55431 Birmingham, Alabama, 35255.
