Malcolm Shelby, age 87, Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 while at his daughter's home in Arizona.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Dotsonville Church of Christ Cemetery..
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Malcolm entered this life on June 18, 1925 in Montgomery County to Henry and Nannie Evans Shelby. He was retired from a management career in furniture sales, a 42 year member of the Lion's Club, and a member of the Hilldale Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Clardy Shelby and his second wife, Mildred Parker Shelby, and siblings, Urbane Shelby and Willie Mae Walton. Yet he leaves his legacy behind with his remaining family: children Mike Shelby and wife Cindy of Clarksville, Rebecca S. Gatlin and husband Brad of Tuscon, Arizona, brothers Rex Shelby of Woodlawn and Edward Shelby of Clarksville, grandhcildren, Tad Shelby, Michelle Merrick and husband Jim, Andrew Shelby, Jeremy Byrd and wife Janice, and great grandchildren, Shelby, Riley, Brittney, and Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Tad Shelby, Andrew Shelby, Jeremy Byrd, Jim Merrick, Bobby Clardy, and Paul Shelby. Honorary pallbearers will be Bennie Bearden, Staton Shelby, and Edward Wayne Shelby.
